Description

Emporium is seeking a Junior Software Developer (Front-End & Back-End) to join its Randburg office. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or junior professional with foundational knowledge of software development who wants to grow in a collaborative team. You will assist in building, testing, and maintaining modern web applications while working across both client-side and server-side technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining front-end and back-end web applications
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code under guidance of senior developers
• Implement UI/UX designs into responsive and interactive web pages
• Develop server-side logic, REST APIs, and database integration
• Participate in code reviews and follow best practices
• Debug and troubleshoot issues reported by QA or end-users
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and developers to deliver high-quality products
• Maintain version control (Git)
• Stay updated on new frameworks, tools, and best practices
• Support deployment and post-launch maintenance

Qualifications

• Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (React, Angular, or Vue
• js)
• Basic understanding of back-end technologies: Node
• js, PHP, Python, Java, or C#
• Familiarity with relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and JSON
• Understanding of responsive and cross-browser design principles
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
